Desirée is a partner in the firm’s New Orleans office. She represents clients in complex oil and gas and commercial litigation and appellate matters. Desirée joined the firm in 2015. She is an appellate practice specialist certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization (LBLS) and serves on the LBLS Appellate Practice Advisory Commission.

A New Orleans native and fourth generation graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, Desirée began her legal career as an assistant district attorney under the Honorable Paul D. Connick, Jr. at the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office. There, she was assigned to the misdemeanor trial and felony appellate and post-conviction divisions, practicing in both state and federal courts. Desirée successfully upheld felony convictions on appeal in over 100 cases and successfully argued before the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal and Louisiana Supreme Court. She remained with the DA’s office through 2012, when she then became a research attorney to the Honorable Judge Hans J. Liljeberg at the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. Desirée draws on her nearly 16 years appellate experience in drafting and arguing significant motions in the trial courts, writ practice, preserving error at trial as well as post-trial litigation. As appellate counsel, she handles not only the firm’s appellate matters but also provides a fresh perspective and review of cases litigated by other law firms.
